This past weekend I hosted a baby shower for my friend. Being the thrifty chick I am, I tried to make as many decorations from scratch as possible, saving me money and giving my party a unique and original look.
I love how this simple DIY yarn tassel turned out with just scraps of yarn from my basement!
Can you believe it didn't cost me a penny since I had all of the yard already?
If you don't have any yarn at your house, chances are someone in your family has an old bin full they don't want or aren't using. Ask around, you will love the color combos you can come up with for this darling little decoration.
The best part is, I can re-use it again for birthday parties, summer décor, a headboard adornment, present toppers or as gifts for friends! I made this quickly one evening when the kids were in bed and I was watching my favorite TV show. So fun! I hope you will make one for yourself.
DIY easy yarn tassel
Source: Emmy in her Element
Supplies:
Yarn, 3 or more colors
Scissors
Creative attitude (it helps!)
Directions:
Take your yarn and wrap it around the palm of your hand about 20 times.
Cut the string and remove the loops from your hand wrapping the end string around all of them about 1/2 inch from the top.
Now cut off the yarn and tie a knot. Cut all the loops at the bottom open to create the tassel strands.
Use a large needle to thread a piece of yarn through the loops to hang.
great
