This is a quick dish with a classy taste. You will have dinner whipped up in less than 20 minutes and there's a little something for everyone.

Spinach and asparagus pasta with white wine cream sauce
Recipe source: Emmy in her Element

Ingredients:
1/2 yellow onion, diced
1 tablespoon butter
pinch of salt and pepper
3/4 cup white cooking wine
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup smoked parmesan cheese, shredded (regular works great too)
small handful of spinach, torn
1/2 box of pasta of your choice
10 asparagus tips

Your choice of ham, chicken or shrimp.

Cook pasta according to instructions.
In a fry pan, melt butter and sauté onion until translucent.
Add white wine and boil for 5 minutes or so until alcohol is cooked out. Chop the tops of about 10 asparagus and add to mixture. Cook for about 3 minutes and add heavy cream and cheese. The cheese will slowly melt into the creamy sauce.
Add your spinach and it will wilt into the sauce.
I like to add 1/8 teaspoon both onion powder and garlic powder. This is optional. More s&p if needed.

Drain your pasta. Add cream sauce and combine.

This is a versatile dish and so many things can be added or taken away.
I like to add chopped smoked ham into the sauce. This pairs so well with the smoky parmesan.
Another option is to sauté a few shrimp and add to the top or chicken would be fabulous as well.

If you are making this for your children, you can simply make the pasta and cream sauce.
