{Edible} 5 minute PLAY DOUGH

It's October. Hunting season. I am having a bit of trouble adjusting to no husband around to help with the kids in the evening. I keep them entertained all day and all night until bed. This mama is tired. I am going to show you a 5 minute recipe for soft play dough that is non toxic and non dangerous if eaten!! It really is so quick and you can have your kids help you stir the ingredients and choose the color. Then you can dump it on the counter for them to play, and you can go have a cup of hot cocoa and sit in quiet "mommy time out" for a few minutes... Do you love me yet? You will!

Recipe: {Edible} 5 minute Play Dough
Recipe source: Emmy in her Element

1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Food coloring of your choice

Add ingredients together into a large pot. Whisk ingredients until combined.
Turn on heat to medium. Stir consistently until the dough gets a little lumpy and form into a ball.
As soon as the play dough comes together into a ball, remove from heat and dump onto countertop. It will be hot, knead until cooled and smooth and let the kids play and play!
Store play dough in a container or zip lock bag.
If play dough dries a little, add 1/4-1/2 teaspoon oil and knead into dough to soften.

I like to give each child a cookie sheet and some cookie cutters and a rolling pin. Then the play dough stays in this space making clean up easier for you!
