New Year's Eve 2014

It's New Years Eve and I'll bet you have a party to attend this evening. If you need an easy fancy looking dessert idea to take along, look to further.
I am making this recipe semi-homemade so that we can shorten baking time, but not compromise on that baked-from-scratch flavor.

Ill walk you through step by step to help you get that perfect look for your New Years Eve bash.

Recipe: New Year's Eve cupcakes
Recipe source idea: Emmy in Her Element
You will need:
1 box white cake mix
1 batch of my favorite Vanilla buttercream frosting
1 bag of "celebration" gumballs- by sweet works
1 can Wilton Color mist in gold
cupcake paper liners (I chose white, and brown paper for the outside of mine)

Note: The spray mist and the gumballs can be found on the cake decoration aisle, sometimes on a different aisle than the baking items.
 What to do:
Make one box of cupcakes. Allow to cool.
While the cupcakes are cooling, make a batch of vanilla buttercream frosting. Use a wilton frosting bag or a gallon zip lock bag and your favorite star frosting tip. Load bag with frosting. In one circular motion pipe the outside of the cupcake. Now in the opposite direction fill in the inside of the frosted area.
Lightly spray frosted cupcakes with gold color shimmer (this is an edible food color mist!)
and top with a pearl gumball.

Don't those look pretty? Perfect to share at your event this evening.

I hope you have a wonderful New Year's Eve party and make some new goals for this coming year. I cant wait to see what 2015 has in store for us.
